Pay for Parking

As part of Kin Day of Kindness, the POW City Kinsmen pay for parking at Royal University Hospital to surprise and support community members during stressful times.

Pay for Parking

Pay for Parking: Small Gestures. Big Impact.

Every year on Kin Day of Kindness, the POW City Kinsmen join clubs across Canada in a simple but powerful mission: give back to the community through unexpected acts of kindness. For us, that means showing up at local hospitals in Saskatoon to give people one less thing to worry about—paying for parking.

A Moment of Relief When It’s Needed Most

Hospitals can be stressful, emotional places. Whether someone is rushing to visit a loved one, attending an appointment, or facing a long day at a bedside, parking is often the last thing they want to think about. That’s where we come in.

On the last Saturday in February, our team spends the day near the hospital’s pay stations. As people arrive, we intercept and offer to pay for their parking, covering their stay—whether it’s 30 minutes or 5 hours.

Each person also receives a small card from us, introducing the POW City Kinsmen and reminding them that they’re not alone—that someone cares.

A National Tradition of Kindness

Kin Day of Kindness is a nationwide initiative promoted by Kin Canada, encouraging every club across the country to head out into their communities and perform acts of service, big or small.

For the POW City Kinsmen, Pay for Parking is our way of taking part in something larger—while making a very local difference.
