The holidays should be a time of warmth, joy, and connection—but for many families, it can also be a time of stress and struggle. That’s why each year, the POW City Kinsmen partner with local schools to deliver holiday hope through our Christmas Hamper.
Helping Families Close to Home
Working directly with local schools, we receive a list of local families who could use a helping hand during the holidays. These are families in our own neighborhood—some of whom may not be able to afford gifts or a holiday meal without a little extra support.
On a Saturday in December, Kinsmen members come together to shop for groceries, household supplies, and gifts, creating personalized hampers for each family on the list. These hampers aren’t just for the kids—we make sure every member of the household is included, because everyone deserves to feel valued and remembered.
Once the hampers are carefully packed, we personally deliver them to each family, bringing not just food and gifts, but a message of kindness and community.
